9-12: Synopsis
Over the past few years, “bullying” has become a big buzzword in schools and in the media. While bullying can mean physical harm or even harassment (treating someone differently because they belong to a protected class), it can also mean subtler actions like gossip and exclusion. By the time students reach high school, those subtler actions are often more prevalent. In this class, two Actor-Educators will perform scenes, facilitate activities, and lead discussions focused on the ramifications of bullying and how it affects the entire school environment. Students will leave feeling empowered to make a positive change, whether they are a target, a bystander, or a person who has bullied others.

In order to make this class as realistic to your population as possible, we will need at least 20% of your students to take a brief online survey before our visit. These survey results will help us determine which scenes to perform at your school and customize other aspects of the class.
